What you need
|

W3Perl
|
You should first download the latest version available.
|
|
Perl
|
Scripts need a Perl interpreter.
Most Unix have already this language available. Windows user should download
ActivePerl 5.10.
Mac user need to install their own Perl port.
|
|
Fly or Flydraw
|
This package is the perl translation of the famous gd package.
It enables you to produce gif on the fly from a perl script.
Fly v2.0 doesn't have anymore GIF support but many distribution have included back the GIF support in 2.0.
To be safe, best is to use v1.6.5
All w3perl graphics are generated by Fly or Flydraw.
Easy to install, Fly is written in C with a makefile included.
Binary and source are available also on this mirror site (USA). Fly is an australian package made by Martin Gleeson.

Perl modules
|
You can use several perl modules for optional stats. Check the W3Perl download page in order to get them.

|
Map IP to country. Can be used to improve reverse dns
|
| Geo::IPfree
|
Another IP mapping to country.

| MIME::Lite
|
If you want to receive email report

| DBI
|
When using the SPIP engine, extract URL to title from the database
|

Gzip or Zip
|
To uncompress or compress the logs files if needed. Bzip files are also supported, others can be added on request. (optional)
